Why a flat $0.10 fee beats percentage pricing
Percentage fees grow with every order. A flat fee doesn't. Here's what that difference looks like on real payment sizes.
Most payment gateways charge a percentage of every payment. It sounds small, usually somewhere between 0.5% and 2%, but a percentage grows with the payment. The bigger the order, the more you pay for the same work.
UnizPay charges a flat $0.10 per payment, whatever the amount.
The same payment, two prices
Here’s what a typical 1% gateway charges compared with UnizPay:
| Payment | 1% gateway | UnizPay |
|---|---|---|
| $100 | $1.00 | $0.10 |
| $1,000 | $10.00 | $0.10 |
| $10,000 | $100.00 | $0.10 |
| $100,000 | $1,000.00 | $0.10 |
Processing a $10,000 payment takes no more work than processing a $100 one, so the price shouldn’t change either.
What else you pay
A flat fee only matters if nothing is hidden around it. With UnizPay:
- Network cost is passed through at cost and shown separately. It’s usually a few cents.
- Conversion cost applies only when a payment needs converting, for example when a customer pays in USDT on TRON and you’re paid in USDC on Base. You set the maximum.
- Setup, monthly and percentage fees are $0.
Who benefits most
The bigger your average payment, the more a flat fee saves you:
- B2B invoicing. On a $10,000 invoice, a 1% fee costs $100. With UnizPay it’s $0.10 plus network costs.
- Online stores with higher order values keep 99.9% of every order.
- SaaS and subscriptions pay the same $0.10 on every invoice, so costs are predictable.
